These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and MatchUp Events ("MatchUp Events", "we", "us", or "our") and govern your access to and use of:

By creating an account, accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy (which forms part of these Terms). If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

By creating an account, you represent and warrant that:
You are 18 years of age or older;
You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract; and
You will comply with these Terms and all applicable laws.
3.2 Account RegistrationTo access certain features, you must create an account by providing:
Your name, email address, date of birth and other required information; and
A secure password.
You agree that:
All information you provide is true, accurate, current and complete;
You will keep your account information up to date;
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials; and
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
3.3 Account SecurityYou must notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised access to or use of your account.
You must not share your account with others or use another person's account without their permission.
We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials.
3.4 One Account Per PersonYou may only create and maintain one account. Creating multiple accounts may result in suspension or termination of all your accounts.
4. Acceptable Use and Community Standards4.1 General ConductYou agree to use the Platform in a lawful, respectful and responsible manner.
You must not:
Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any applicable laws or regulations;
Harass, threaten, stalk, abuse, defame, intimidate or discriminate against any person;
Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your identity, age, relationship status or affiliation;
Engage in conduct that is fraudulent, deceptive or misleading;
Use the Platform to solicit money, promote commercial services (unless authorised by MatchUp Events), or engage in spam or unsolicited advertising;
Collect, harvest or scrape information about other users without their consent;
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform, other users' accounts, or our systems or networks;
Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Platform or servers or networks connected to it;
Use any automated means (bots, scripts, crawlers) to access the Platform without our prior written consent;
Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble any part of the Platform; or
Encourage or assist any other person to do any of the above.
4.2 Prohibited ContentYou must not upload, post, share or transmit any content that:
Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable;
Promotes violence, self-harm, terrorism, hatred or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any other protected characteristic;
Infringes the intellectual property, privacy, publicity or other rights of any third party;
Contains viruses, malware or other harmful code;
Is spam, advertising or promotional material not authorised by MatchUp Events; or
Violates any applicable law or regulation.
4.3 EnforcementWe reserve the right, but are not obligated, to:
Monitor, review or remove any User Content (defined below) that we reasonably believe breaches these Terms or our policies;
Suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms; and
Report illegal activity to law enforcement or regulatory authorities.
We are not responsible for User Content and do not endorse any opinions, recommendations or advice expressed by users.
5. User Content5.1 What is User Content?"User Content" means any text, images, photos, videos, audio, profile information, messages, posts, comments or other content that you upload, post, share or transmit on or through the Platform.
5.2 Your ResponsibilityYou are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent and warrant that:
You own or have the necessary rights, licences and consents to post your User Content;
Your User Content does not infringe or violate the intellectual property, privacy, publicity or other rights of any third party; and
Your User Content complies with these Terms and all applicable laws.
5.3 Licence to MatchUp EventsBy posting User Content on the Platform, you grant MatchUp Events a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable licence to:
Use, host, store, reproduce, modify (for formatting, technical or operational purposes), adapt, publish, display, distribute and communicate your User Content in connection with operating, providing, improving, promoting and protecting the Platform and our services.
This licence continues for a commercially reasonable period after you delete your User Content or close your account, to the extent necessary for us to provide services to other users (for example, where your content appears in another user's message history) and to comply with legal obligations.
5.4 Removal of User ContentWe may, but are not obligated to, remove or restrict access to User Content that we reasonably believe:
Breaches these Terms or our policies;
May expose MatchUp Events or our users to liability; or
Is otherwise harmful or inappropriate.
You can delete your own User Content at any time through the Platform (where that feature is available), but copies may remain in backups or caches for a reasonable period.
6. Events, Bookings and Interactions6.1 Event InformationMatchUp Events facilitates the discovery, promotion and booking of social and matchmaking events. Event details (including date, time, location, price and description) are provided by MatchUp Events or event organisers.
While we take reasonable care to ensure event information is accurate, we do not guarantee that all details are complete, current or error-free. Event details may change, and events may be postponed or cancelled.
6.2 Bookings and TicketsWhen you book or purchase a ticket for an event, you enter into a contract with MatchUp Events (or, where stated, with a third-party event organiser).
You will receive a booking confirmation by email. Please check your details carefully.
You are responsible for ensuring you meet any eligibility or entry requirements for the event (for example, age restrictions, dress codes).
6.3 PaymentsPayments for events and other paid services are processed by our third-party payment providers (for example, Stripe).
Prices are displayed in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable, unless otherwise stated.
By providing payment information, you represent that you are authorised to use the payment method.
MatchUp Events does not store full credit or debit card numbers. See our Privacy Policy for more information.
6.4 Refunds and CancellationsUnless otherwise stated at the time of purchase or required by law:
Tickets and fees are non-refundable once purchased.
If you cannot attend an event, you may be able to transfer your ticket to another person (subject to the event organiser's approval and any applicable terms).
If an event is cancelled or materially changed by MatchUp Events, we will provide you with:
A full refund of the ticket price; or
A credit or alternative event option, at our discretion.
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (see Section 13) are not affected by this clause.
6.5 Your Conduct at EventsWhen attending events, you agree to:
Behave respectfully and lawfully;
Follow any rules, instructions or codes of conduct provided by MatchUp Events or the venue;
Not engage in harassment, violence, discrimination or other inappropriate behaviour; and
Respect the safety, privacy and property of others.
We may remove you from an event or ban you from future events if you breach these standards.
6.6 Safety and Interactions with Other UsersMatchUp Events facilitates introductions and connections, but we do not control the behaviour of users or guarantee the safety of any interaction or event.
You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users, both online and offline.
We do not conduct criminal background checks or verify the identity, credentials or intentions of every user, although we may undertake certain checks or verifications at our discretion.
You should exercise caution and common sense when interacting with others, including:
Meeting in public places;
Telling a friend or family member where you are going;
Not sharing financial information, passwords or other sensitive details; and
Trusting your instincts and leaving any situation that makes you uncomfortable.
If you experience or witness inappropriate behaviour, you can block or report users through the Platform or by contacting us.
7. Intellectual Property7.1 Ownership of the PlatformThe Platform and all content, software, designs, graphics, logos, trademarks, text, audio, video and other materials (excluding User Content) are owned by or licensed to MatchUp Events and are protected by Australian and international intellectual property laws.
7.2 Limited Licence to Use the PlatformSubject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Platform for your personal, non-commercial use.
You must not:
Copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, rent or sublicense any part of the Platform;
Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or attempt to extract the source code of the Platform;
Remove, alter or obscure any copyright, trademark or other proprietary notices; or
Use the Platform or any content for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent.
7.3 Trademarks"MatchUp Events" and related logos, names and designs are trademarks of MatchUp Events. You must not use our trademarks without our prior written permission.
8. Privacy and Data ProtectionYour privacy is important to us. Our collection, use and disclosure of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into and forms part of these Terms.
By using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy and consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with it.
Key points:We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
We collect personal information to provide and improve the Platform, facilitate events and matches, and communicate with you.
We may share information with service providers, other users (in accordance with your settings), and as required by law.
You have rights to access, correct and request deletion of your personal information (subject to certain exceptions).

9. Communications and Marketing9.1 Service CommunicationsBy creating an account, you consent to receive service-related communications from MatchUp Events, including:
Account verification and security alerts;
Event confirmations, reminders and updates;
Important notices about the Platform or changes to these Terms or our Privacy Policy; and
Responses to your enquiries or support requests.
You cannot opt out of these communications, except by closing your account.
9.2 Marketing CommunicationsWith your consent (where required by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth)), we may send you marketing and promotional communications, including:
Information about new events, features and offers;
Tips, news and updates from MatchUp Events; and
Surveys and feedback requests.
You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by:
Clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any marketing email;
Updating your communication preferences in your account settings (if available); or
Contacting us at info@matchupevents.com.
Opting out of marketing will not affect service-related communications.
10. Third-Party Services and Links10.1 Third-Party Content and LinksThe Platform may contain links to third-party websites, services, applications or content that are not owned or controlled by MatchUp Events.
We do not endorse, monitor or assume responsibility for any third-party content, websites or services. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
10.2 Third-Party IntegrationsThe Platform may allow you to connect or integrate with third-party services (for example, social media accounts, payment providers, or calendar apps).
By using these integrations, you authorise MatchUp Events to access and use information from those services in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the third party's terms.
11. Suspension, Termination and Account Closure11.1 Suspension or Termination by MatchUp EventsWe may, acting reasonably, suspend or terminate your access to the Platform (including your account) immediately and without prior notice if:
You breach these Terms or any other policies or guidelines;
We reasonably believe your use of the Platform may cause harm to you, other users, MatchUp Events or third parties;
We reasonably suspect fraudulent, illegal or unauthorised activity;
We are required to do so by law, court order or regulatory authority; or
We decide to discontinue the Platform or certain features (see Section 11.4).
11.2 Termination by YouYou may close your account at any time by:
Using the account deletion feature in the Platform (if available); or
Contacting us at info@matchupevents.com.
11.3 Effect of TerminationOn termination or closure of your account:
Your right to access and use the Platform ends immediately;
We may delete or de-identify your account and User Content, subject to our legal obligations and our Privacy Policy (see Section 11 of the Privacy Policy – Data Retention);
You remain liable for any obligations incurred before termination (for example, payment for tickets or services); and
Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 5.3, 7, 12, 13, 14 and 16) will continue to apply.
11.4 Discontinuation of the PlatformWe reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue the Platform (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice, for any reason (including for maintenance, upgrades, or business reasons).
We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension or discontinuation of the Platform.
12. Disclaimers12.1 "As Is" and "As Available"To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Platform and all content, services and features are provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranties or guarantees of any kind, whether express or implied.
12.2 No WarrantiesWe do not warrant or guarantee that:
The Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free or free from viruses or other harmful components;
Any defects or errors will be corrected;
The Platform will meet your requirements or expectations;
Any information, content or materials on the Platform are accurate, complete, reliable or current; or
You will achieve any particular result, outcome, match, relationship or connection through the Platform or events.
12.3 User ResponsibilityYou acknowledge and agree that:
Your use of the Platform is at your own risk;
You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users and your decisions to attend events or meet people; and
MatchUp Events does not conduct comprehensive background checks or verify the identity, credentials, intentions or suitability of users.
12.4 Australian Consumer LawNothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, condition, warranty, right or remedy that you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified ("Non-Excludable Rights").
Subject to your Non-Excludable Rights, all other warranties, guarantees and conditions (whether express or implied) are excluded to the maximum extent permitted by law.
13. Limitation of Liability13.1 Exclusion of Certain LossesTo the maximum extent permitted by law, MatchUp Events (including our officers, employees, agents, contractors and related entities) is not liable to you or any third party for any:
Indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive loss or damage;
Loss of profits, revenue, business, data, goodwill or reputation;
Loss or damage arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform;
Loss or damage arising from your interactions with other users or attendance at events;
Loss or damage arising from any unauthorised access to or use of your account or personal information;
Loss or damage arising from any third-party content, services or links; or
Loss or damage arising from any modification, suspension or discontinuation of the Platform,
even if we have been advised of the possibility of such loss or damage.
13.2 Cap on LiabilityTo the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or in connection with the Platform, these Terms, or your use of our services, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), statute or otherwise, is limited to the greater of:
AUD $100; or
The total amount you have paid to MatchUp Events for paid services in the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim.
13.3 Non-Excludable RightsNothing in this Section 13 limits or excludes our liability for:
Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
Death or personal injury caused by our negligence; or
Any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including the Australian Consumer Law).
If the Australian Consumer Law or any other law implies a guarantee or condition into these Terms and that law prohibits us from excluding or limiting our liability, then our liability for breach of that guarantee or condition is limited (to the extent permitted by law) to, at our option:
In the case of goods: replacement, repair, or payment of the cost of replacement or repair; or
In the case of services: re-supply of the services, or payment of the cost of re-supply.
14. IndemnityYou agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless MatchUp Events (and our officers, directors, employees, agents, contractors and related entities) from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:
Your use of the Platform;
Your User Content;
Your breach of these Terms or any applicable law;
Your violation of the rights of any third party; or
Your conduct or interactions with other users (online or offline).
This indemnity survives termination of your account or these Terms.
15. Changes to the Platform and These Terms15.1 Changes to the PlatformWe may update, modify or discontinue any aspect of the Platform at any time, including features, functionality, content, pricing and availability, with or without notice.
15.2 Changes to These TermsWe may update or modify these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements or other factors.
When we make changes, we will:
Post the updated Terms on the Platform;
Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document; and
If the changes are material, take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, by email, in-app notification, or a prominent notice on the Platform).
Your continued use of the Platform after the updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Platform and close your account.
16. General Legal Terms16.1 Entire AgreementThese Terms (together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies or guidelines referenced in these Terms) constitute the entire agreement between you and MatchUp Events regarding your use of the Platform and supersede any prior agreements, understandings or representations.
16.2 SeverabilityIf any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable by a court or other authority, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, or if that is not possible, it will be severed from these Terms. The remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
16.3 WaiverOur failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by an authorised representative of MatchUp Events.
16.4 AssignmentYou may not assign, transfer or delegate these Terms or your rights and obligations under them without our prior written consent.
We may assign, transfer or delegate these Terms or our rights and obligations (in whole or in part) at any time, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets or other business transaction.
16.5 No Agency or PartnershipNothing in these Terms creates any agency, partnership, joint venture, employment or franchise relationship between you and MatchUp Events.
16.6 Force MajeureWe are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under these Terms if that failure or delay is due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, pandemics, government actions, strikes, or failures of third-party services or infrastructure.
16.7 Governing Law and JurisdictionThese Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, and the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia that apply in Western Australia.
You irrevocably submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia and the courts of appeal from them for any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Platform.
16.8 Dispute ResolutionBefore commencing any legal proceedings, you agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us at info@matchupevents.com and providing a detailed description of the dispute and your proposed resolution.
We will attempt to resolve the dispute in good faith within a reasonable time (typically 30 days).
If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, either party may commence legal proceedings in accordance with Section 16.7.

You agree not to share your account with others or use another person’s account without permission.
We may, acting reasonably, suspend or terminate your account if we believe you have breached these Terms or used the Platform in a way that may cause harm to you, other users or MatchUp Events.
4. Acceptable Use and Community GuidelinesYou agree that you will not use the Platform to:
Break any law or regulation;
Harass, abuse, threaten, stalk, defame or otherwise harm others;
Upload, share or link to content that is:
Illegal, hateful, discriminatory or sexually explicit;
Violent, incites violence or promotes self-harm;
Spam, advertising or promotional material not authorised by MatchUp Events;
Misrepresent your identity, age, relationship status or intentions;
Collect or harvest information about other users without their consent;
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform or our systems;
Use the Platform for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent.
We may remove content or suspend/terminate accounts where we reasonably believe these rules have been breached.
5. User Content and Licence“User Content” means any text, images, photos, videos, profile information, messages or other content you upload, post or share on the Platform.
You retain ownership of your User Content.
You grant MatchUp Events a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, host, store, display, reproduce, modify (for formatting and technical purposes), and distribute your User Content in connection with operating, improving and promoting the Platform.
You represent and warrant that:
You have the rights necessary to post the User Content; and
Your User Content does not infringe the rights of any third party or breach any law.
We may remove or restrict access to User Content that we reasonably believe breaches these Terms or our policies.
6. Events, Interactions and SafetyMatchUp Events facilitates introductions and events but does not control how users behave offline.
You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users and your decisions to attend events or meet in person.
We do not conduct criminal record checks or verify the identity of every user, although we may undertake certain checks or verifications at our discretion.
You should use common sense and take reasonable precautions when meeting others, including meeting in public places and telling a friend where you are going.
To help keep the community safe, you can block or report users through the Platform (where available) or by contacting us.
7. Payments, Bookings and CancellationsSome features of the Platform, including certain events or premium services, may require payment.
Payments are processed by our third-party payment providers (see our Privacy Policy for more information).
Prices, fees and any applicable taxes will be shown before you complete a purchase.
Unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase:
Tickets and fees are non-refundable, except where required by Australian consumer law or where an event is cancelled by MatchUp Events.
If an event is cancelled by MatchUp Events, we will provide a refund or a credit, at our discretion and subject to applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
8. Intellectual Property of MatchUp EventsThe Platform, including all software, designs, logos, trademarks, text and other content (excluding User Content), is owned by or licensed to MatchUp Events and is protected by intellectual property laws.
You must not:
Copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease any part of the Platform; or
Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the Platform, unless allowed by law or with our prior written permission.
9. PrivacyOur collection, use and disclosure of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
By using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy and consent to your personal information being handled in accordance with it.
10. Third-Party Services and LinksThe Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services, or may allow you to interact with third-party content.
We do not control and are not responsible for third-party websites, services or content.
Your use of third-party services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
11. Suspension and TerminationWe may, acting reasonably, suspend or terminate your access to the Platform (including your account) if:
You breach these Terms or our other policies;
We reasonably believe your use may cause harm to you, other users or MatchUp Events; or
We are required to do so by law or a regulatory authority.
You may close your account at any time through the Platform (if that feature is available) or by contacting us.
On termination:
Your right to use the Platform ends; and
We may delete or de-identify your account and User Content, subject to our legal obligations and our Privacy Policy.
12. DisclaimersTo the maximum extent permitted by law:
The Platform and all content are provided “as is” and “as available”;
We do not guarantee that the Platform will be error-free, secure or always available; and
We do not guarantee that you will find matches, relationships, friendships or any particular outcome through the Platform or events.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, condition, warranty, right or remedy implied or imposed by any applicable law (including the Australian Consumer Law) that cannot be lawfully excluded, restricted or modified.
13. Limitation of LiabilityTo the maximum extent permitted by law:
MatchUp Events is not liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental or special loss, or loss of profits, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform, your attendance at events, or your interactions with other users.
Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or in connection with the Platform or these Terms is limited to the greater of:
AUD $100; or
The total amount you have paid to MatchUp Events for paid services in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be limited under law (for example, certain guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law).
14. Changes to the Platform and These TermsWe may update or modify the Platform from time to time.
We may also update these Terms occasionally. When we do, we will post the updated Terms on the Platform and update the “Last Updated” date above. If the changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, by email or in-app notification).
Your continued use of the Platform after the updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
15. Governing LawThese Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia and the courts of appeal from them.

1. About MatchUp EventsMatchUp Events provides social and matchmaking events and related services. We are based in Australia and may use service providers located in Australia and overseas to help us operate the Platform.

Social media handles or links (if you choose to add them)

“sensitive information” under the Privacy Act (for example, sexual orientation, religious or cultural preferences if you choose to share them). We only collect this type of information with your consent, and we use it only for the purposes described in this Policy (primarily, to provide you with relevant matches and events).
2.2 Event, Match and Communications DataWe may collect information about your use of the Platform, including:
Events and activities you view, join, create or interact with
Your preferences, interests, and “Looking For” details
Matches, connections and interactions with other users
Messages, chats and other content you send via the Platform
We process this information to provide the core matchmaking and event services, and to maintain a safe environment.
2.3 Device and Usage DataWhen you use the Platform, we automatically collect certain technical and usage information, such as:
IP address, browser type, device identifiers and operating system
Access dates and times, pages viewed, referring URLs and clickstream data
Cookie identifiers and similar tracking data (see Section 5 – Cookies and Tracking)
We use this information for security, analytics and to improve the performance of the Platform.
3. Why We Collect and How We Use Your InformationWe collect and use your personal information for purposes that are reasonably necessary for operating MatchUp Events, including to:
Create, verify and manage your user account
Provide and personalise the Platform, including:
Suggesting relevant events and matches
Displaying your profile (according to your settings)
Facilitate event registrations, attendance and payments
Enable communication between users (messages, connections, invitations)
Send you important service-related communications, such as:
Account verification, password resets

Send you marketing and promotional communications (only where permitted by the

Monitor and enhance the safety, security and integrity of the Platform, including detection and prevention of fraud, abuse or prohibited content

Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our Terms of Service
Where we collect sensitive information, we use it only with your consent and only for the purposes of providing and improving the Platform (for example, matching you with compatible attendees and events).
4. Legal Basis (Australia)Under the Privacy Act and APPs, we collect, use and disclose your personal information only where it is reasonably necessary for our functions and activities, and only by lawful and fair means. In practice, this means:
Information necessary to provide the Platform and run our business is collected on the basis that it is reasonably necessary for our functions and activities.
Where information is sensitive (such as details about your preferences or orientation, if you choose to provide them), we rely on your consent.
For direct marketing by email or SMS, we comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) and obtain your consent where required.

6.1 With Other UsersLimited profile information (such as your first name, age, general location, profile photo and “About” information) may be visible to other registered users, in accordance with your profile and privacy settings.
Information you choose to share in messages, chats or event interactions will be visible to the recipients.
We encourage you not to share contact details or highly sensitive information in your public profile or messages unless you are comfortable doing so.
6.2 With Our Service ProvidersWe engage third-party service providers to help us operate and improve MatchUp Events, for example:
Website and application hosting, cloud infrastructure and data storage
Email and SMS delivery
Analytics, performance monitoring and customer support tools
Payment processing (see Section 8 – Payments)
These providers may handle personal information on our behalf. We only authorise them to use or disclose personal information as necessary to perform services for us or to comply with legal requirements.

6.5 Business TransfersIf MatchUp Events is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, reorganisation or similar transaction, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you (for example, by posting on the Platform) if such a change in ownership or control occurs.

7. Direct Marketing and CommunicationsWe may send you different types of communications:
1. Service and transactional communicationsThese include emails or messages about your account, security alerts, event bookings and other service-related updates.
These are necessary for using the Platform and you cannot opt out of receiving them, except by closing your account.
2. Marketing and promotional communicationsWith your consent where required, we may send you information about new events, features, offers or promotions from MatchUp Events.
We comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). You can opt out of marketing emails or SMS at any time by:
Clicking the “unsubscribe” link in the message, or
Updating your communication preferences in your account (if available), or
Contacting us using the details in Section 14.
8. PaymentsIf you purchase tickets or other paid services through the Platform:
Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider(s) (for example, [Stripe/other provider]), who will handle your payment card details in accordance with their own security standards and privacy policies.
MatchUp Events does not store full credit or debit card numbers on our servers. We may retain limited information related to your transactions (such as the last four digits of your card, payment amount and date) for record-keeping, reconciliation and fraud-prevention purposes.
9. Data SecurityWe use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to help protect your personal information from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These measures may include:
Encryption in transit (HTTPS)
Access controls, authentication and logging
Secure development practices and regular monitoring
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will assess the situation and, where required, notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in accordance with applicable laws.
